Grounding is an age old method that has been used in the past to treat many physical and emotional ailments. It is performed by standing barefooted on the ground/earth. The direct contact of the skin on the grass or ground can have a number of effects on the body.
By connecting the body to the Earth, it enables free electrons from the Earth’s surface to spread over and into the body, where they can have an antioxidant effect on the body.
Various studies across the globe found that grounding reduces and/or even prevents the cardinal signs of inflammation following injury: redness, heat, swelling, pain, and loss of function. Rapid resolution of painful chronic inflammation was confirmed in 20 case studies using medical infrared imaging. In the same study it was concluded that: 1) grounding the body during sleep yields quantifiable changes in diurnal or circadian cortisol secretion levels that, in turn, 2) produce changes in sleep, pain, and stress (anxiety, depression, and irritability).
When combined with positive affirmations related to the area of pain, the prognosis of the person is accelerated by at least 6 times. A simple, yet common, example of pain is the back. The back is an area that stores unconscious emotions and excess tension. It is also associated with stored anger and resentment, feeling unsupported and trying to always be perfect as well as feeling financially strained.
By simply grounding, and breathing in affirmations such as:”I release the past, I choose to trust the process of life. I am supported and my needs are always taken care of.” One will find a quick and effective release of pain.
